Energy & Power
From LNG cargoes to offshore wind farms — securing today's energy while building the zero-carbon grid of tomorrow.
Energy & Power is where Yamato Bussan's transition strategy is most visible. We trade the molecules the world runs on today — LNG, oil products, power — while investing the proceeds into the assets that will replace them.
Our portfolio spans 14 countries: a 1.2 GW offshore wind pipeline in the North Sea and off Akita, green-hydrogen production in Western Australia, and grid-scale storage across Japan and Southeast Asia. We don't see trading and decarbonization as separate businesses — the cash flows of one fund the build-out of the other.
By FY2030 we will have committed ¥3 trillion to energy-transition assets, the single largest capital allocation in the company's 144-year history.
Transitioning to Next-Generation Energy
While optimizing existing infrastructure such as LNG and petroleum, we are aggressively accelerating investments in clean energy, including offshore wind and green hydrogen. By 2030, we aim to dramatically increase our renewable energy ratio, contributing to a sustainable society.
Key Projects
- Commissioning of a large-scale offshore wind farm off the coast of Akita.
- Building a green ammonia supply chain in Australia.
