Digital Grid Lab

Research on efficient operation and management technologies for renewable energy.

LocationBerlin, Germany

We are developing smart grid solutions that contribute to optimal control of distributed power sources and stable supply of clean energy.

Building Sustainable Energy Networks

To solve power grid instability caused by the expanding adoption of renewable energy, the Digital Grid Lab researches control technologies for Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) and microgrids. We aim to build systems that aggregate diverse Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and control them as a single power plant.

Key Facilities and Research Projects

  • A high-precision power supply and demand forecasting simulator linking weather prediction models with AI.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) for V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), connecting electric vehicle (EV) batteries to the grid.
  • Development of a P2P (peer-to-peer) power trading platform utilizing blockchain.
