Yamato expands São Paulo grain and renewable-power operations
Published: June 5, 2024

The expansion deepens Yamato's Americas footprint in both grain origination and renewable generation, with new storage and handling infrastructure across three Brazilian states and a portfolio of solar development rights in the country's fast-growing power market.
The São Paulo office, which EVP Elena Rodriguez leads as the regional headquarters for the Americas, will add headcount across trading, origination and project development to manage the enlarged portfolio.
São Paulo as a South American Hub
The new office features an attached digital innovation lab to drive open innovation with promising local fintech and agritech companies. Furthermore, a specialized sustainability team has been newly deployed to maximize the potential of Brazil’s vast agricultural resources and renewable energy. This demonstrates the exponentially growing importance of South America within Yamato Bussan’s global network.
